Out of contract with Chelsea at the end of the season and rumored by BBC that he's gonna hand in a transfer request in Jan. Worth maybe getting in with an offer now to sign in the Xmas transfer window?

Big wages for someone I probably wouldn't play ahead of Tomkins or Sakho

tbh I would have him, still doesn't play like a 33 year old, looks and plays with enery/younger.

however, theres no way we can lob on another (and im quite sure hes earning) 100k player on our small books.

Today's performance clearly shows where we need strengthening and it isn't foremost at the back. Need to get a striker who at least can finish sometimes, preferably most times !!

Would be a waste of finances as it's not what we need.

We shouldn’t forget that Neil Dann is still on our books and not too far away from being on the bench. So a definite no to Cahill.

Showing your age. Scott Dann. Otherwise, I agree.

If he has not played for Chelsea in the Champions´League, he will no doubt be hired by a rival contender able to afford him.

We need to add one more big 100k + signing to the books but that is a goal-scoring striker.

In an ideal world Cahill is a nice to have but Sakho and Tomkins do a great job for us. Cahill would be a slight upgrade on Tomkins but we don't need to rock the boat and go into debt for a slight upgrade.

Martin Kelly and Scott Dann are excellent cover for CB. Could argue that a fit Dann deserves to push for starting 11.

Also, the Champions League point doesn't matter this season, if he plays in it and goes to a European rival in January he is no longer cup-tied. Changed at the beginning of this season.

GC´s current employers could well put a lid on this issue by keeping him as a valuable squad member at the very least as they will want to be fully assured of getting the most out of this season. That said, they can and will do as they like, whilst I, as a Palace fan of longstanding, will always relish our beating them at Selhurst Park at the onset of our turnaround last season under my fellow Croydonite Roy Hodgson.

Please read Croydoner instead of Croydonite.
