Tinker in Lovejoy, amongst other things.

Dead.

Glad that somebody gave this guy the deserved respect to post online.

One of Joan Littlewood's greats - a brilliant versatile actor.

He even starred in Tom Chaplin (of Keane)video for 'Midnight Mass':

Seemingly a real, top gentleman.

Tributes from many people that knew him and who he worked with but nothing from Ian McShane which seems very odd

Absolute gentleman ive bumped into him on the London Underground on a number of occasions a few years back. If the train was crowded and he had a seat he would offer me his seat. I walk with sticks and wear leg brace. RIP Mr Gentleman

made a superb cameo comeback in Cockneys versus Zombies in which he referred to zombies as 'trafalgars'. When quizzed on this unfamilar slang rhyming he explained: Trafalgar Squares, Fox & Hares, hairy Greek, five day week, weak and feeble, pins and needles, needle and stitch, Ambercrombie and Fitch, Ambercrombie ... zombie". He also did the kidnap in Porridge when the governor's secretary's affair with Mr Barrowclough came out - great career. RIP.

Probably because he's not on Twitter.

Can't be real. He hasn't got a blue tick.

I only saw this chap in an old show the other day and thought how much stuff he has been in over the years.

Another very recognisable English face gone.

Will always remember Dudley Sutton in The Leatherboys, playing the Norton riding character Pete. The film really captured life as a ton up boy hanging out at The Ace cafe.
RIP
