Just one change: Ward in for the suspended Wan-Bissaka.

We'll, all the newbies on the bench, so one or more bound to put in an appearance.

Thanks Bagnaell - COYP!

Really looking for some improvement from Benteke this game. A couple of goals for the confidence.... but let's hope Roy is ready to change gameplan with a swap for Ayew if he doesn't make an impact.

I think you're more likely to get home improvement than some improvement.

Tough game for Palace as Watford goes in it with good morale after winning 3-1 at Burnley, a team which doesn't take many goals in.

Sure, Palace shouldn't really have bad morale after a Liverpool loss, but any loss at home will cause you some distress, no matter how good the adversary.

There will be some spaces though for counter attacks, as Deeney is big and overweight and doesn't track back a lot, Andre Gray, though faster, is still a striker and not used to do 100% defensive work and Will Hughes will probably never be the same fast player after the injuries ( yes, I'm aware that he scored last week). I really appreciated Hughes in his England U21 days, but he's reallly having problems running after the problems he had. So that's at least 3 Watford players remaining behind the ball in fast counter attacks (Deeney, Gray and Hughes). Now if you can get past the 2 central midfielders Capoue and Doucoure you could create good chances to score. Ball down, passing very fast at grass level, that's what I'd reccommend.

Though not tracking back great, Hughes is still a threat offensively as he cuts in to his left foot. Just like Roberto Pereyra cutting in on his right from the other side, both allowing fullbacks Janmaat and Holebas to come full speed down the flank. Roberto Pereyra has started the season great, Hughes scored, Deeney scored, so there's good morale there.

As much as I'd appreciate Palace, a draw in this match would be awesome, as this seems like a 1X.

I am sure Benteke will thrill us all with his hold-up play, deft touch, link play and his goalscoring prowess.
Might even break sweat and win a header or two.

Tomkins out

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
