Even though the transfer window is closed I believe we are still able to sign free agents. These are just some of the players I personally think could be worth a punt. Not saying they would all get in the team but I do think we are still a little thin. So could still do with 1 or 2 as backup. What do you think? Anyone I’ve left out?

Unless Jaïro counts as U21 we have already got a full named 25 man squad.

The reason they are free agents are obvious! They are either too old, demand to much money or not good enough.
We aren’t shopping in that market anymore.

My opinion

Samir Nasri past his prime
Bakary Sako injury prone and weight problems, though he did good when he came on
Hatem Ben Arfa very good forward-winger, but people say he's a bad influence in the locker room and he's not young anymore
Diego Reyes injured at the moment (hamstring), but it's his first injury ever, I imagine it's minor and he'll sign a contract in a big league as soon as he's ready to have a medical
Lacina Traore didn't he sign a new contract wih Monaco just so that they'll make money from selling him?
Glen Johnson old
Yaya Toure whoa, ancient and slow Tutankhamun
Jan Kirchhoff I don't really know this centre back, I know he played for Sunderland but I haven't paid him much attention
Stephen Ireland The guy is practically retired, hasn't played in like 4 years
Giuseppe Rossi same thing as sbove, very injury prone. And old!!!
Balázs Dzsudzsak YES!! Now this is a good player. He's a bit old at 31, but he still has 2 years at top level left in him if someone takes himm wonderful against big national teams at the Euros 2 years ago. Should have accomplished more than just play for clubs in the Gulf and Russia
Pontus Wernbloom too old

I'd have also asded Fidel Martinez. He's not that young anymore at 28 but he is a good national team player for Ecuador. Winger-forward, ledt footed. Won't rocket the Premier League, but would be abdecent squad player if he'd be taken in free.


And Leonardo, the Brazilian, best player in Serbia 2 years ago, was a free agent until a few days ago. Great player at a good age, would have done very good in the Premier League had he been brought. Players from Serbia often do good in big leagues. The guy decided to go for the money in the Gulf and he has built a life there. Now he has signed for another EAU team, Al-Wahda. A loss really...sure, his current level is very low, but the a Serbian league, which he rocked, is not very bad. A decent medium league with a lot of players with talent

This subject keeps popping up and it’s pointless because the option for Premier League clubs to sign free agents stopped on the 9th August - Hence the meaning Deadline Day!

EFL clubs will still be able to sign free agents and loan players until 31 August.

You happen to be incorrect. The clue is in the name transfer window.

Free agents can be signed at any time during the season.
