It is quite possible that Jaïro Riedewald will leave his Crystal Palace in the next two weeks. The former Ajax player would be seen by his employer as the ideal 'change' in an exchange deal.

It is a deal with Swansea City. The Wales Online reports that Riedewald can be involved in a transfer from striker Jordan Ayew, who in turn goes the opposite way towards the Seagulls.

A year ago Palace paid another 8 million euros to Ajax for the 21-year old left leg, who had landed on a sidetrack under Frank de Boer. Riedewald is still under contract with the club until mid-2022, but last year no more than 13 appearances and could therefore leave for a reasonable amount.

At Swansea Riedewald can play together with compatriots Erwin Mulder, Mike van der Hoorn, Leroy Fer and Luciano Narsingh. The club from Wales is looking for defensive reinforcements, all the more because Alfie Mawson is about to leave for Fulham for about 20 million euros.

I guess the bit about Jordan Ayew joining the "Seagulls" in part exchange must mean "Eagles". But could be a good move for all concerned.

How much is the rest of him worth?

Those must have been Palace's new add-ons that everyone is talking about.

If Roy doesn't think he's good enough to play then loaning him out is a good idea.

I have only been watching the games on my tablet so could be wrong but he looked a bit overweight?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

We'd be desperately lacking in cover for central defence and central midfield.

I see him as our main backup for Luka, too much potential at 21 to be let go as his value will surely rise and Swansea will be loving it if they get a player with his potential sell on value.

If it's only a loan then I'd consider letting him take the opportunity, but only if we've got someone coming in to fill the space he'll leave open.

It is mentioned in this article in the Independent as well, but I hesitated putting up the link because it covers some other of our transfer activity, which more properly belongs in Transfer Talk. Please restrict any discussion to Riedewald on this thread and copy the link to appropriate threads if you want to cite it on discussions about others mentioned:

At this stage I see no benefit in letting him go. He has looked decent in pre-season and is versatile cover for us.

So my girlfriends brother is on a train to Swansea and just spoke to Riedeweld, who was with an agent (She told me the name, I think the one who used to have catchphrase "monster"
The agent did also say that we are going for J.Ayew, wierd he would know that unless its part of a part exchange...

I dont know if anyone is talking about it as a potential transfer but he is 100% on a train to Swansea now...

Makes sense
According to Ed Aaron’s (quality editor of the guardian) palace fan,
Ayew and kouyate having medical today and Mac Mayer deal is done just waiting for international clearance.

Maybe he’s going to change at Newport for Hereford, Shrewsbury and Crewe.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
