Do you agree that the players currently look very happy with life and also there is a very good spirit within the camp? Seems to me we finished last season on a high and it still remains, all credit to Roy and his staff.

I agree with this 100%. I know it is only pre season and we have played inferior teams but the lads are looking confident and they all know their roles inside out. I fully expect us to make a couple of signings in the next week to strenghten.

We may have lost RLC, but lets remember he played in less than half the games last season so we can cope without him.

Cabaye was only capable of 60 minutes so we were due an upgrade.

PVA was shocking for the first half of last season and now it is like we have a new player with the confidence he has and the same can be said for Schlupp.

If we can get Wickham firing then we could be in for a good year ahead.

They seem to be playing as a unit and supporting each other. This was happening at the end of last season - playing with a smile on their faces. Great to see indeed, 2 quality signings and who knows eh!!

Don't want to jinx it but...We've gone 4 months straight without losing a game, PL and friendlies!

So far out of 8 wins out of 11
3 of those draws.

If benteke preforms and sorloth improves a bit, we really look like a good side. Just need a nice midfielder to help our Serb

You want Benteke to mutate, or something?

Makes a pleasant change to have a positive OP on this board.

I too feel fairly optimistic about the forthcoming season. Yes, we need to sign a couple of quality midfielders, but that is about it and if worse comes to worse and we have to blood a couple of youngsters as a result of injuries, I feel certain they won't let us down.

And as long as Wilf, just as last season, isn’t out for any period of time.

I like the way we're playing pre-season, but I think we need someone to come in and take some of the creative burden off of Wilf. Nevertheless, if we avoid injuries to key players then we could have a more comfortable season. A few astute signings and who knows.
