If he can earn more elsewhere or if he thinks he can earn the same but has more chance of first team football then he is bound to leave.

Does he think he is a 60k a week player ? He would be great to have around to bring on the kids. But think he expects a bigger club to come in for him

Perhaps in discussion with someone like Fulham? If he were offered 1st team football for a bit more money with relatively limited upheaval for his family and given his age, it would be better than playing back up with us. That said, I have no clue whatever. Completely made up explanation.
