Does he still have a future at palace, one year left on his contract, probably worth only a couple of million, will the new style of play get his form back to as it was 3 or so years ago, or do we let him go, if we can find a buyer.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Is there a such thing as a transfer list these days? I never hear the term anymore You just hear of out of contract and clubs making big bids

Personally, I think we should keep him, cheap and versatile. Solid squad player that would cost a lot more to replace. assuming he would like to stay, it would be madness to get rid of him

I think we need to drop the idea of him as a conventional or deep-lying centre midfielder. That was a good surprise move by Pardew which had short term impact, but stopped being effective as soon as teams prepared for it and were able to target him. He's a solid back-up for attacking midfield and wing positions, so a flexible sub, and a good squad character. I guess he's not on a huge wage either. Unless he desperately wanted a move, which I doubt, no reason to get rid. Oh, he needs to have a look for his old shooting boots too. Goal threat was a key part of his game but in last 2 seasons totally evaporated.

Im all for keeping him as players are not cheap, have him on the bench, but hes far from solid nowadays. Hes only useful cos of his age, not too old yet, but lets be honest, hes about as solid and useful as Damo has been for the last 12 months....sadly.

I agree with the general thrust of these sentiments. Puncheon only played 9 games last season and is approaching 32.

It would make sense to get him back to full fitness and offer a new contract should he show good form. I imagine he would want to stay and must know he’d only be a squad player at best. I could see one of the newly promoted sides coming in for him, but next season. If he wants to get his pay day and move on I don’t think anyone would begrudge him, nor make that usual comment about “driving him there” like we might with Lee or Mutch.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

I can see him being used as a sub a lot next season as he can cover all the midfield positions in a four, particularly the wide ones, no point in giving him away
