So my infant daughter has really caught onto this tune and maybe it's a sign of my age but what the friggin' heck is Big Shaq going on about? Are there any translators out there who can enlighten me? Lyrics: Yo, Big Shaq, the one and only

Lyrics: Not a chance, sorry. I’m sure it’s genius to those who understand it though Edited by joe_cpfc (02 Jun 2018 10.03am)

I believe the youth of today find its satirical take on the format of spoken word improvisation - or 'Fire in the Booth' - highly amusing. Its references to lyricism which tackle subjects of violence and hyper-masculinity, along with its Learian approach to linguistic nonsensicality, juxtapose the typically threatening and choreographed nature of much of the modern day's 'rap game'. That's what one of my pupils told me anyway.
If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4 |

He's a comedian. He was also the Palace matchday announcer for a few games (earlier this season I think). He was worse than awful and lots of people put pressure on the club to reinstate the old announcer, which they did.

I teach reception class.. In all fairness, not sure what most of it means myself. I presume he is parodying violent rap if he's a comedian. The parody is not particularly effective if no-one can understand it.
