A man in Scotland has been arrested and convicted for carrying a unlicensed potato peeler...up for a maximum of four years... 'You may take our lives, but you can never take our potato peelers!' 'Officer, that potato peeler nearly took my eye out! Arrest the peeler...peeler'. 'Come on lad....where are the potatos?....the game's up!'

Maybe he legitimately thought he was going to be attacked by a large gang of potatos.....I mean you never know, it could happen. Some of those King Edwards are real bruisers.

Some of the older members on here might remember the TV programme "Police 5" where presenter Shaw Taylor used to say at the end "Keep em peeled" !

Edited by Willo (28 May 2018 9.30am) I do indeed, Willo. I met Shaw Taylor once. Lovely man. The story goes that he fell out with the ITV powers that be, because they didn’t embrace his idea for a full-on ‘public helps police investigations’ show. They said it would never be popular. Then the BBC launched ‘Crimewatch’, which ran for 33 years and was very popular!
