Pellegrini has been named as West Ham's new manager. Good luck to him in relation to what their fans will expect.

This could explode at anytime.

The players’ motivation levels have been shameful trotting towards opposition in possession and later on so was the lack of discipline and following instructions. He should keep them up ok, but whether that’s good enough in his first season for the club that won the World Cup is anyone’s guess.

I often wonder how good these so called top managers perform without having a world class team to start with and no outrageous financial backing. Guess we’ll see.

Some of the expensive players signed when Pellegrini was at Man C :

Otamendi - Up to £32 Mill, Mangala - nearly £32 Mill, Sterling - Up to £49 Mill, De Bruyne - £54 Mill, Bony - Up to £28 Mill, Jovetic - Up to £25 Mill. That's over £200 Mill but I suspect for some the total add-ons never happened.

Indeed, not really testing the mangers true ability in my eyes. These mangers walk into lovely situations. Let’s see how he gets on without it.

To be fair Pellegrini had a good pedigree on the continent, got Malaga to the CL quarters, to label him a chequebook manager is wide of the mark

I think Wham's Achilles heel is the stadium

Benitez at newcastle is a prime example of that, most 'top managers' started somewhere. Pep was in Second division in Spain, albeit under Barca's B side, and Mourinho didnt have an easy ride to the top either.

Seems like a good appointment but I’ve seen their fans taking the p*ss because they’ve got him, while we’ve got Hodgson. We’ll see who’s the better fit.

If it goes well for them, does that mean their fans can go back to not caring about ‘the soul being ripped out of their club’?

In their last season at 'Upton Park' they finished 7th.In the two seasons at the 'London Stadium' they have finished 11th then 13th amidst cries of "Soul being ripped out" and all that.I suspect that if they do well under Pellegrini and they end up say in the top eight the cries will all die down.

He's a good appointment for them. However, their squad contains more deadwood than ours!

If we moved to a stadium like that our soul would be ripped out I am telling you. No results on the pitch can make up for having a stadium that is completely utterly totally unsuitable to generate a football atmosphere. I believe it has cost them points, fine with me they can end up in League 1 as far as I am concerned.

It looks like Pellegrini has a 'promise' of serious cash to strengthen but I think Spam is an odd combination of comings and goings at the best of times.

Some good pickings like Tompkins was?

Spam will settle into London Road ok, they should make Boris Johnson honorary president for life, as recognition for him making us all pay for their new existence.
