Well, someone has to say something. Where is the outrage? Where are the demands for air strikes? 60 dead, thousands injured. And it's all apparently the Palestinians' fault. Seems like the ragheads are invisible and expendable when our mates kill them en masse. Still, Meghan Markle's dad is stressed about her marriage to a royal, so there's some proper news to focus on.
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

So I will say as I see Who instructed them to invade Can you categorically tell me that isn't what would have happened in Gaza and forwards. Then on to the nearest town. But then that's ok as Israel appear to be a country of lepers!

No-one started the thread earlier,....because they know how it'll end. A bit like Gaza The thread on the BBS already has people entrenched with their take on it I am a simple creature. Armed Government forces shooting indiscriminately at civilians is inhuman and illegal. Other atrocities are not reported by the media, such as the killing of whites in Zimbabwe. And Megan's dad loves playing the media. Now he's in hospital,...but I'll bet he'll turn up on the day.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

The formation of Israel has been a disaster from the beginning. Not really a surprise.

Where else were they to go. Hard to maintain sympathy when they are now doing the same to Palestinians. Remember that Israel was just a Biblical tale, not a historical fact.

Israel's right have taken the decision that compromise and peace is pointless. So it's a slow but evident land grab and process of weakening opponents. I've thought about this quite a lot....they are probably right. Their opponents will never accept Israel. It doesn't mean I like it. The whole thing is horrible and it isn't going to get better. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 May 2018 8.06pm) I agree with you on the strategic gameplan of the current Israeli regime and your conclusion (blimey, two agreements with you, I must need help ;-) ) However, for Israel to be "accepted", I find it's long history of killing civilians and annexing land to "protect its borders" to be a mentality that goes out of its way to engender conflict and agitate against co-existence. The six-day war I'll grant them, but the balance of aggression over the last 50 years comes down very heavily on the Israeli side. Coincidence, or lebensraum & untermensch all over again under a different psychopath? Edited by Mr_Gristle (15 May 2018 8.48pm)

Edited by Mr_Gristle (15 May 2018 8.48pm) If you look at it from an Israeli survival perspective and look at it cold...take in demographics and so on, then there's a logic to it. I agree with you as to the implied emulation....still, ignoring the horrific ethics if he hadn't taken on two fronts and consolidated they would have controlled Europe.....Instead of just controlling it now seventy years on via different means.....learn from the mistakes of the enemy and all that. I have mixed feelings over Israel....but I definitely agree with the moral argument against what's happening....Then again, what is happening is just an undeclared war and war is about babies dying under rubble......it becomes about whose. Might is right was never pretty. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 May 2018 9.03pm)
