There's a 3 points and 9 goals difference between Southampton and Swansea. And even if equaled Southampton would still rank higher cause they have scored more goals. Top 4 is also known. Chelsea misses out. Neither Huddersfield nor Swansea had very good squads (I could name Mounie, Pritchard and Mooy on one side and Andre Ayew, Tammy Abraham and Narsingh on the other side, pretty difficult to stay up in the PL just with those). I maintain my opinion that Swansea should have used Narsingh much, much more. He would have provided a lot more assists than Dyer or Clucas. WBA might have done better had Chadli been available the entire season. His injury hit them. Also, the style Pulis had gotten them used to really pulled them down. The previous year they played a lot of matches just for 1-0 wins, mostly defending after scoring. The lack of attacking football meant very few chances to score goals per match this year and if the defensive doesn't work either, then it's very probable that teams who don't score much go down. Better to go for 3 points than 1 point in the long run. Pulis really damages teams long term. I know he's very popular on this site, but it's just my opinion.

At least Huddersfield management was smart enough to bring in players like Mounie, Pritchard or Tom Ince. Gotta hand it to them. They also got a lot of foreign players like Kongolo, Zanka, Hadergjonaj, Mooy, Kachunga, Quaner, Depoitre. Swansea's transfers consisted of English U21 Tammy Abraham who was well known in English football and Andre Ayew, just cause he had been good for them in the past. Sam Clucas or Renato Sanches are very good central midfielders, but that's it. Not attacking players, as they wanted to make them.

Stoke to "roll over" to drag their former manager into the mire?

WBA would of been better off bringing Darren Moore in rather than Pardew.

I'm glad Huddersfield stayed up - that's one team to finish below us next season, only 2 more required.

I wonder if Burnley might join the long list of small teams that can't cope with qualifying for Europe and keeping it together in the league? 4th place is still up for grabs according to my maths. There's sod all else for Sky to get excited about on Sunday so I reckon they'll be ramming Liverpool and Chelsea's games down our throats, with a dash of "can Man City get to 100 points?"
