Newcastle is ahead on goal difference by 2 goals and they still have 2 fixtures left, but Newcastle have to play Chelsea and Tottenham and they won't make more than 3 points out of those games (and with a negative goal difference, might even take in a lot). With a win against WBA, Palace finishes above Newcastle, Burnemouth and Watford, at least on goal difference.

Would a top 10 finish convince players who otherwise would have joined clubs like Southampton or West Ham to come to Palace?

I think clubs that would otherwise have joined West Ham are already joining us and leaving them to join us(Cabaye, Benteke, Tomkins). I also think the same of Southampton due to location and wages on offer.

Could be right. The probability of us beating West Brom going by odds 3/4 or 1.75 is 57% chance

Spurs double chance win or draw v Newcastle 1.03 odds
Chelsea double chance win or draw v Newcastle 1.17 odds

Newcastle beating spurs 18/1 and 5% chance
Newcastle beating Chelsea is 5.75 and 17% chance

Nice weather out here.

Possible 9th spot of Leicester fail to get a point against Arsenal or Spurs, let a few in and we score a few against WBA.
Then its time to talk what could have been if Hodgson was in charge since the start, missed penaltied, blah blah blah, coulda won the league!

For me 10th place is a good possibility. Spurs will want to beat Newcastle or at least draw due to wanting to finish 4th, maybe 3rd. Hopefully Chelsea will be in position to finish 4th when they play Newcastle so to keep this match alive for Chelsea.

We just have to do the job v WBA.

What would be an interesting situation - 89 mins, West Brom slam home a scrappy goal.

As it stands, they are staying up - we, however, need 2 goals and 3 points to be 9th.

On one hand I would love west brom to stay up and complete the great escape - other hand, 9th would sound brilliant. Let's hope WBA are down on Tuesday and not in our hands.

9th is not a realistic possibility. Leicester have to lose big time against Arsenal and Spurs. They have a much better goal difference and Palace can only equal their points.

I've just heard Ian Wright saying on Radio 5 Live that he expects West Brom to beat us.

Just passing it on.

Not sure why he would say that. We both have a pretty decent record over the last five games. A draw is more on the cards I would have though.

They are -5. If they lost -2 and -3 it would take them to -10. If we won 3-0, we'd go -9.

It's unlikely

I got the feeling that it was said in the sense of "just a hunch".
