Martin Atkinson , wow two good refs in a row now ain’t that something , reffed our 0-3 away butchering of Leicester and I think that’s it for this season

Question is will he give Zaha an inch of protection against the inevitable beating he'll get?

Doubt it. Other posters have suggested Wilf starts on the bench, so as to thwart and confuse the plucky Potters, before unleashing him later. It could just work.

Don't see why we would want to bench our best player when we still need four points to be mathematically safe and have only one game left to play after Saturday. It would give Stoke a massive lift to see our talisman in the dugout.

I reckon it's going to be a similar game to Watford last week, in terms of physical aggression, so very pleased to see a more competent official than that d*ckhead at vicarage road.

Yes - their supporters certainly think he is our outstanding player. They also seem to dislike Atkinson a great deal having sent off a few of their players in the past.

One of their local rags has written an entire article detailing how much Stoke hate him and demanding that he be changed.

Optimistic as ever

I have seen some pessimist remarks on here, but this one beats it all. Southampton are still playing Swansea, so mathematically we do not need 4 points to be safe.
Agree on not benching our best player though. 2 losses may just get us back in danger indeed.

Until we lose & its ALL his fault.

Like the idea of ZAHA on the bench tho, now, THAT will give everyone guessing.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

So it seems Martin Atkinson is to stoke what mark clattenburg is to palace a total tw@t ! I personally think he’s a good ref who can do a straight forward job unlike half the refs we get lumbered with
