I think the only reason Roy is playing Ward is to put him in the shop window for sale in the Summer .
Same for Benteke's cameo appearances .
As for Sorloth ,
Well my prediction after the Everton game that he wouldn't reach 3 goals in the Premiership now looks pretty safe .
Next year I very much doubt if he will start the season with us .
I fancy Roy will try to move Benteke , and make a major forward signing .
Wickham and the new fella will be our strikers .
In midfield and defence we are spoiled for choice .
But Im still not sure about RLC , he's injury prone and doesn't really get involved when the going is tough .
Ironically the only player to play worse since FDB is him

While everyone is entitled to their opinion I think you are way off here. Firstly no need to put Ward in ‘the shop window’ as he is out of contract this summer so if Roy wants to get rid of him he just doesn’t offer him a new contract... done!

Secondly Benteke’s reputation and name will superceed any poor form he is displaying and, if the club wish, could quite easily sell him for £20-25m. Therefore playing him with is current rock bottom confidence won’t do anyone any good.

Thirdly Sorloth is young, younger than people realise, especially for a tall, strong centre forward who had had barely any game time, less time to get used to the Prem and the team and is recovering from an injury. Writing him off already makes no sense to me at all. I expect we will sign at least one striker in the summer, but a smaller, pacy one.

I think you have a while to wait before you can start to claim bragging rights over Sorloth. As I recall, you did not limit your prophecy to this season.

Ward's contract runs out this summer so he's a free agent which makes your thread a bit of a nonsense

Sorloth cost 9 mil - he's not a loan signing, maybe you're confusing him with Rakip? I understand that for all Sorloth's application, willingness and ability to retain the ball intelligently he has not really shown much cutting edge yet - but he has hardly been played centrally so we must give him a chance. Part of Roy's rationale in getting him in is that he is an intelligent player with the ability to work out how to adapt and improve. He's not been brought in as a 'finisher' like Gayle, and he seems the type of centre forward who is not expected to get 20 goals in a season - somewhere between 8 and 15, but helping to create goals with his team play, so I can see why you think he may have limitations as a forward, but it is far too early for hard and fast opinions, in the Everton game he played well, especially so considering he was not match fit and he was droppped in at the deep end. I do hope you want to be wrong.
