2 - 2.5 years jail for child grooming

But an 8 year ban from Snapchat, seems to be an extremely bizarre sentence for the crimes committed and admitted. Don't let this descend into a race or religious issue, it's not the point.

They will be out in those lengths of time as the sentences ranged from 4-5 years but the judge has already told them they "will be released after serving half their sentence, which was already reduced by 155 days." I'd have thought using the word "potentially" would have been a good idea, if they're model prisoners, rather than confirming it before they've served a day of it.

What people tend not to appreciate is that serving half the time given by a judge is your actual sentence, the second half is there to allow bad behaviour inside to be punished without the need of being charged for something new. No prison can function without the cooperation of the inmates and this is regarded as the best way to keep them in check and onside.
