A few thoughts from me, others may have seen it on TV and had the benefit of seeing replays and slo-mo:

Palace gave that a right good go and with a bit of luck and better finishing (more on that later) would have drawn or even won.

I don't think Hennessey can be blamed for either goal and he made a really good save in the first half getting down quickly to his right.

Wan Bissaka looks immensely promising and even made one or two good forward runs in the second half but he did misplace a few passes today. He's young, he will make mistakes, but I think he's the real deal. I have no idea why he was subbed, had he taken a knock?

Centre backs were generally solid but both caught a little out of position for the goals.

Van Aarnholt looks good and bad in most games it seems to me. Today I thought there was more good than bad, links up well with Wilf.

Central midfield three worked tirelessly, Cabaye made one or two really good forward passes, MacArthur was constantly harrassing, Mika is a giant, a real leader.

I don't think Wilf is 100% yet, he had a decent game but regularly had three of four defenders round him.

Townsend never quite delivers as much going forward as I hope for but he does do a lot of hard graft helping out.

Which leaves Benteke. I generally stand up for him and he did win some decent flick-ons today and there was some (not enough) good hold up play. But his confidence in front of goal is completely and utterly shot. People around me were saying he should be taken off and if we'd had Sorloth on the bench perhaps Roy would have agreed.

RLC looked a little rusty and TFM had little time to do much apart from scuff an attempted shot horribly.

The penalty looked a clear penalty but I think the yellow card for their keeper was probably right. Should Henderson have been given a 2nd yellow for deliberate handball? I think he should. Yellow card for a blatant dive by Mane looked spot on.

One or two bad Liverpool challenges went unpunished but I don't think the ref cost us the game, sad to say but I think that's more down to Benteke than anyone else.

If we can perform as well in the next six games we will be OK.

It was Marne with the deliberate Handball and should have gone. Tompkins was missed today.
Benteke two shocking misses.
Two defensive errors

Ha, but they do look so alike!! I think in the heat of the moment I got confused because Henderson was straight in the referee's face - no doubt explaining that the rules clearly state that no Liverpool player can be sent off against Palace. Apologies for the error.

As far as I was concerned it was a sending off offence and yet again the big teams get away with it. Thought it was a terrific performance by us and if Benteke had taken just one of his chances we would have got something out of it :-(

Mane should have definitely been sent off. We played pretty well but got nothing out of it again. We had a fantastic spell in the second half but didn't capitalise on it, mainly because of Benteke's wasted chances. Townsend should've passed to him earlier for the 2nd chance but had clearly lost faith in him. Like me

Benteke keeps on missing chances that he should do better on.

Big up the Palace!!!!

Unless Stoke beat Arsenal tomorrow, we will remain 2 points clear of the relegation zone this weekend. If Stoke DO beat Arsenal, we will be clear only on goal difference s it is squeaky bum time!(unless Stoke score more than 10, which is unlikely). Keep the faith!

Very good review. Spot on on all counts except for the wrong name, Mane proved to be a nasty soul.

I really didn't like the way the little g*t was all smug at the end as well when the team walked off.

Just back and could not agree more. I try not to show my frustrations on here about Palace players but my days Benteke has cost us some points this season ☹️

'We regret those two chances' Roy is so right.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson talking to BBC Sport: "Yes it is a bit of a groundhog day playing against these top teams. We actually played quite well in the second half and created some good chances but we also conceded two goals at the other end.

"What happens in the penalty area is the difference in the game. Whether it’s a mistake by defenders or excellent play by strikers to create something. Of course we do regret those two (Benteke) chances and other opportunities we had when they were defending desperately, but they had already scored both of their goals.

"I don’t really like spending my time discussing refereeing decisions and what is right and wrong because that’s all part of the game. The fact is playing against 10 men for the last 25 minutes may not have given us an advantage anyway.

"It has been disappointing these past few weeks where the team has done well and deserved something form the game but come away with nothing. I don’t subscribe to the fact that the next six games will be easy because the teams around us will be as difficult to beat as Liverpool today.

"I can only hope we start scoring the goals soon and don’t continue to suffer from the mistakes that cost us today."
