Those of you who love to abuse my thoughts and call me a troll would maybe like to remember back in August when I was demanding that FDB got FIRED immediately after the Huddersfield joke.

I don't think any reasonable Board would fire a manager after one single game, no matter how bad the performance. He was given a chance to sort his s*** out. You do seem to have forgotten also that Zaha was injured in that match.

I agree Zaha was injured for the following games and that was clearly a factor. But de Boer did hang him out to dry leaving him our sole attacking outlet, playing Townsend in a defensive role so Huddersfield took the opportunity to go in gang handed to kick him off the park, thus the injury

Never thought I’d be so fickle as to want a manager gone after one game but felt the same way. Points lost at home to Hudddersfield and Swansea look a bit sick now.

Yup, you made it clear FDB was wrong for us and it was proven or at least, too much damage was done to fix things on his side of the fence. Starting a race 7 laps behind is always going to be an uphill battle as that means its constant catchup, rather than leg room for a dip in form. Couple of seasons ago the sky was the limit we were told and i honestly think if he wasn't called FDB he wouldn't have got the job. i believe Hodgson was always interviewed at the time. On paper, who was more experienced, more suited to us, Hodgson so why go for FDB besides getting all excited at how it sounds. Last summer should have been Roy, with a window in august to tweak and then this jan another tweak. But we can go back and say that SA walking hurt us, just as we can say keeping AP on another season hurt us, just as Pulis walking or letting Holloway buy anyone that answered his emails. The common factor there, Parish not really being that experienced on the running of the football side - which isn't his fault, he had no experience prior, but sometimes you gotta be the bigger man and say 'i am out of my depth here, let's appoint a chairman and i will stay owner'.

I also called for FDB to be sacked after the first game! We talk about the first 7 games being lost but when you consider that 3 of them were away to the current top 3 teams in the league we should consider the problem as only 4 games all of which were winnable but at least drawable - what a difference just 1 win or 3 draws would’ve made now ? I understand how difficult it must’ve been for SP to admit his mistake and sack his chosen manager after just 4 games but give him credit for doing so. It looked like Roy’s appointment was genius as he took us clear of the relegation zone but then we had terrible luck with the worst injury crisis I can remember - not just strains or hammies but long term injuries that had nothing to do with a lack of fitness training - just sheer bad luck ! On top of all that our £30 million striker has had a mare of a season with a tally of only 2 goals being totally unacceptable. This lack of goals highlighted his unacceptable low level of effort !! Without doubt we should have bought cover for this striker position and that was the other big failing of our season. We now find ourselves back in the relegation zone but we can get out of it if we get injured players back especially Wilf. The next 2 games will be damage limitation but after that we can pull clear as long as Roy has the players available. I have seen us relegated 7 times before but if we go down this year it will go down as the most avoidable. If we do stay up then SP has to learn the lesson for our future success.

Regardless of why, sad to say the first seven game run is what puts us most at risk. Even if we had taken 5/6 pts from those games our position and survival chances would be totally different. Throw on the Benteke penalty incident and there you go, possibly 8/9 pts better off.
