Well the result against Spurs was probably not in doubt before KO but again why do we make it so easy for these teams to play against us , not only playing far too deep inviting the pressure on for 90 minutes , but again the simple basics of football is to try and keep the ball of which we are incapable of , we played tippy tippy on the edge of our own box and lose it instead of clearing our lines , we constantly gave the ball away with sloppy passes , we played the ball across our own box on more than one occasion and why can’t Townsend keep going forward with the ball instead of turning back into trouble and putting us on the defensive again , on corners we don’t watch the ball instead we do wrestling with the opposite number ......a lot of these errors you would see over your local park .....two weeks we had to prepare for this and we still can’t do the basics

Amazing. You lose 1-0 to the team second in the division when you have more injured in the squad than fit and suddenly we're "s***e". We hang on for another few minutes and get a point nobody would have been saying that but it would have been substantially the same performance.

We did show nervousness especially at first but plenty of which to be proud. And our youngsters looked good. We didn't have many of our best players and lost our key defender just before the goal. But you carry on slagging off our team, I am sure you could do better.

Some people on this site need to allow others to have an opinion that differs from their own. It’s quite pathetic really that you’re not allowed to have an opinion that you’ve analysed from the game just because we almost got a bit of a lucky point and certain people will write you off before you get the chance. All well and good saying we were unlucky etc. But any team in the world can be drilled for 2 weeks to do nothing but defend. Wigan just beat City. It’s nothing more than working hard & hoping you get a bit of luck. Admiral & perhaps even necessary but if the evidence of us on the ball today is anything to go by, we are going down. I can’t think of one side currently worse in that department. We’ve had “guts” and “nerve” plenty of times over the past 5 years. There comes a time when that simply isn’t enough anymore. Could be psychological issue at play here. Weakened team against a supposedly vastly superior team with everybody saying so. All the hype around it. Very difficult to combat. As you say though did very well today, worked really hard, restricted them and so close to a point. Great effort. COYP !!

Again your not allowed an opinion that differs ....if you they don’t agree with me fine but come on look at the table and look at how we play , if you think scrappy defending for 90 minutes is going to keep us up get your head out the sand Originally posted by Mstrobez

At least we discovered someone (Luka) with good deliveries from corners & freekicks.

The aim of Football is not to keep possession, it is to score a goal. You can score a goal from one pass and a shot. Your perception of the aim of Football is out of tune.

Just makes it all the more baffling that Cabaye should be allowed to continue to squander these opportunities. He would do more good hovering somewhere around the D to pick up the second ball and clip it into the forwards or take a shot. His first corner caused their defence some serious pericombobulations.
