So Roy has said we have nobody back but more out. 12 first team injured players. I can only think of 11 though?

Starting 11

Hennessey

TFM
Tomkins
Delaney?!
PVA

Townsend
Cabaye
Luka
McCarthur

Sorloth
Benteke

Injured 11

Speroni

Ward
Kelly
Dann
Sakho
Schlupp

Zaha
Puncheon
Loftus-Cheek
Sako

Wickham

...and Neil Shipperley has!

As far as I'm aware Ward is fit and played 2 weeks ago.

So no, no we don't have to play Delaney!!!

TFM moves central and Ward RB.

I watched the press conference and for the first time Roy sounded beaten before the match has started.
He pretty much acknowledged that he has no,options from the bench and must be concerned about further injuries on Sunday.
He didn’t sound exactly convinced about the injury to Sakho which calls into question his desire to play.
The team selected above seems the only realistic option for Sunday.
I think the club took its eye off the ball as the team was doing well in the run up to the transfer window and in hindsight the refusal to strengthen is likely to prove costly.

Unfortunately Roy has just said Ward is out for a week or two! Sakho still feeling his calf but Kelly and Schlupp may also be a week or two.

Coming to think of it, Jairo Riedewald.

He can play CB and put in an absolute shift against City. I would go with him.

More worrying is the fact Roy declared we had 12 injured players but we don't know who number 12 is?!

Hopefully could just be Mutch or a youngster. What if Hennessey really is injured?!

I don't think Freedman took his eye off the ball leading up to the transfer window. Seems plenty of options were presented. I think we actually got unlucky with the injuries just before the window whereas before I think we have to look inwards for the cause of some injuries. Having to treat every game like a cup final, which is partly why they got injured. At least they were committed.

Parish has his eye on this summer's window with trying to sign Adamou and some cheap hopefuls in areas we're light in.

I do not know why Delaney is in the squad. Must be very cheap.

Back to topic. Pray we don't go in too heavy and get any more injuries. The 11 stand a fractional chance of a draw with that line up.

Fvck me. Maybe people having to miss the game may see some silver lining from not going.

Keep it tight, Benteke and Sørloth tussle their CB's.

Agreed, he was one of the best players on the pitch but he was in midfield not at the back. He was terrible at the start of the season at CB.

Think we are lucky the injury crisis is while we are against the top 6. These are games that would be tough to win even with our best 11. Just think we'll have to play 5 in midfield to protect that defence a bit more.

Hennessey

Fosu-Mensah
Tomkins
Jach/Delaney
Van Aanholt

Townsend
Luka
Riedewald
Cabaye
McArthur

Sorloth

That's what I've been thinking, it seems as though they think he's ready but for whatever reason Sakho doesn't. It may well be genuine but I've got a nagging feeling there might be a little more to it
