Now that it is established (unless a free transfer keeper is taken on) that Jules and Wayne will see us through to the end of the season and Guaita is coming at season end, we have a situation with Jules and Wayne coming to end of contract. These are the options as I see it, what's the consensus?

Option 1
1) Guaita
2) Hennessey new contract
3) Speroni 1 year deal

Option 2
1) Guaita
2) Hennessey new contract
3) Ronnow

Option 3
1) Guaita
2) Ronnow
3) Speroni

There are a couple of other permutations and of course one of them is that both Jules and Wayne leave and we are forced to buy 3 new keepers.

Why, apparently to a lot of people on this board this is the most important position in the club?

It was one of Roy's most important positions to fill a week ago. But not to you.

One or both of Hennessy and Speroni have to stop being in the squad in goal for us. I think Parish is finding it tough on Speroni but it's for the manager. Speroni could become a coach as has been his next goal, and you can't keep him in the squad forever when this is obviously becoming a more crucial issue with other backups in Hennessy that aren't great either.

Up to Roy if he stays but he must be bold about it.

This was a purely factual post. Rudi, why do you find it necessary to have a go at posters on this board at every opportunity. It is not your board, people are entitled to their opinions as are you, but you just cannot resist having a dig can you.

Because your's seemed like a sly dig at it being so important to people on here, which it is, as Roy has said, although maybe as another post you've made is coming round to this thinking, it's not as I thought and you agree.

I can't tell because you've put 'posters', not including yourself. Can you clarify then? Is the keeper situation important now, after the season ends, or on the transfer deadline day before match 1 next season, seeing as this is always adjustable to those who excuse us being severely vulnerable with things like 1 striker in the English premier league?

Alternate Jules and Wayne for now.

Third option seems most likely with Hennessey moving on for a possible up in weekly pay and someone coming in after Guaita. Not sure if Ronnow is a defo.

I'm not sure that option 3 is a goer as I'd have thought both the first 2 keepers would expect to start. Perhaps we could go for a Championship keeper as the 1st reserve?

Oh. Dion Henry is sub today. Is Jules injured? In January Roy said "Wayne's the number one and Julian's the number two [at the moment], but I'm not prepared to say that's written in stone." [Link]

I think Speroni and Guaita would make a good team to help bring through a younger talent. Ronnow? Well, both Brondby and the keeper himself have got us in the doghouse after our usual deadline day malarkey cocked up the deal for the second time so he may not be coming to us anymore.
Whoever we get, whether we keep Jules and move on Hennessey, or have Jules become a coach and keep Hennessey remains to be seen, both are good options.
