Is it just me, or is Wilf been completely off the boil at the minute. I'm not sure if its because we as a fanbase hold him to such high standards, but the past 5 or 6 games he's been non existent. Fails to release the ball after beating players (which is so frustrating), going over too easily at times (granted not always), and his general end product has been below par. Perhaps its been compounded by Andros' recent form, but for me Wilf seems to be shot of confidence, and definitely not the player he was last season.

He literally had 3 players around him every time he got the ball last night. Player like Wilf you have to take the odd bad game when he can produce what he can.

It seems so obvious to me that once he's attracted players the best thing he can do for the team is to lay off into wherever the space is. But regardless of that, he was having one of his sulk days yesterday.

He always complained and rolled around on the floor which is something he's always needed to sort out but I think the reason he hasn't made such an impact recently is because the other teams have been shutting him down so successfully, he needs to stop getting so riled up when, for example, West Ham, put three players on him and learn to use the space that creates to our advantage. Now he generally tits about until he loses it when he could be passing to someone else. At the moment we're quite easy to neuter by just concentrating on Wilf. Steeleye20 said on the match thread: "Well Wilf always starts and the opposition plan ahead. So why not introduce him during the match when their minds are by then occupied." Which strikes me as not too bad of an idea.

Even Messi has the odd bad game, given that he's one of the best players ever a bad game is still rare for him but none the less still happens.

Edited by boo909 (31 Jan 2018 11.20am) Ha good idea, leave our biggest threat on tbe bench....he's always had 2 or 3 players around him, he can't always play brilliantly. He's going to havd bad spells. Didn't look sharp for some reason last night. We just expect too much from him because we have very little else as an attacking threat.

The thug Zabaleta man marked him for a lot of the match which he hates and when he got out wide they surrounded him. I agree he has looked out of sorts last couple of matches but as has been said on here, suck in players and lay the ball off if you are going to be triple marked

Bring him on after 15-20 minutes it might balls up the other team's marking long enough for him to actually do something and maybe he'll have more energy at the end of the match? Not ideal I know but not the most terrible idea in the world.
