He was probably guest of honour on the spammers Christmas party...free drinks and a couple of the owner's (one of the two) pretty babes to care for his hangover!

Just watched the replay of the game and in my humble opinion there was not much more the ref could have done to give West Ham 3 points. The penalty was part Tompkins fault in that he left his leg out and gave the chance for someone to go over it. Townsend does virtually the same thing in second 1/2 and gets a yellow card for simulation. Byron should have been yellow carded in first half for a similar offence to the one Milovojevic did to get his booking. This would have meant Byron would have been off when he got his booking in the second 1/2. Noble took out Zaha and got no card and got so many free kicks when there was minimal contact - usually when we were in posession - i thought these type of refereeing displays were a thing of the past.

My view from the game was that he was extremely inconsistent and managed the game poorly. I don't think he made any mistakes that would have meant a different result. I think it was a penalty, albeit a soft one. I do think West Ham were lucky to get away without more cautions and Luka was extremely unlucky to get carded after one challenge, which wasn't as bad as Zabaleta's for which he didn't even give a foul.

Poor performance, but ultimately not the worst I've seen and not one that had a bearing on the result IMO.

If he'd dished out the cards he should've in the first half I doubt WHU would have been so aggressive in the 2nd - maybe the crowd fouling would have stopped or at least one might have seen a red. Inconsistency like that can, and does, directly impact on the game itself.

Whilst I am not quite agreeing that the refereeing was quite as biased as some are suggesting.
The tackle come grapple by Byron on Wilf should have been a card which would have been more consistent considering Milovojevic had already received one.
The fact that it then took 2 more fouls by Byron to achieve his yellow card I thought was very poor decision making by Neil Swarbrick.
The penalty however was correct.

I don't disagree with you, but I'm not sure it would have made any difference to the result. Ref was poor but not the reason we didn't win. I'm happy with a point. Hopefully results go our way tonight.

Is correct. Great opportunity to pick up 3 away points last night, but didn't have the guile to breakdown a packed defence.

The commentator (Tony Gayle?) said on at least 2 separate occasions 'he will be lucky to not get a yellow for that' for fouls that I considered worthy, in today's climate, of a card.
How was the tackle on Sako, although I would have been happy with it during my playing time, not classed as a foul? He was not in control and it was clearly dangerous. Likewise Collins' tackle on Zaha, if wilf had planted his foot instead of jumping over the tackle I think we would have had a leg breaker.

It sounds to me as though he was way too hasty in carding Luca and so decided to reign his insticts in which in turn went against us.
Referees are way too inconsistent now sadly and that is probably my biggest gripe game on game.
