At Arsenal today I couldn't help but think they have the poorest home support in the league in terms of chants and overall enthusiasm. Even at 4-0, we were making all the noise and while this is obviously positive on our part, it does beg the question that the Arsenal support is terrible.

Is there anywhere else in the country where you could argue the home support is as unenthusiastic?

I was there today and yes their support was woeful but it didn't affect their performance on the pitch in the slightest

It is an odd place, they were 4-0 up and silent. The best chant from Palace was "Its just a ground full of tourists", which upset a lot of Gooners sitting near me.

I love to remember there are 600 million Man United supporters in this world. How sad is that? none of them know pain enough to know joy. Feck em all

Top comments.

Theo Walcott's interview today after his first game at Goodison alluded to a relief and pleasure of playing for a team with decent home support.

Nothing like Highbury which was a real football ground with atmosphere and history with a feeling you were stepping into somewhere with some strength rather than a big friendly giant which the emirates is.

Arsenal are Spurs of the mid to late '80s. Mar net before football. The opposite of Arsenal then. The season ticket waiting lists won't last with 6th place finishes and that model.

Love that phrase Parrot!! One thing is for sure: not feeling entitled makes victory taste much smoother.

Was in the North bank with the Arsenal fans.
Very good view , saw loads of empty seats around the stadium .
Sound wise they were happy and noisy when they scored but really was such a one sided affair they really could not get up for it .
Acoustics are strange you could barely hear the Palace fans , so I doubt the Palace fans could hear any noise from the Arsenal.

Don't have the fans too far from the pitch and trying to get usher singers to certain concentrated areas in new stadiums. Chelsea or Spurs will have learnt from this and probably put them further behind.

My lad was with me for the first time (at the Emirates) yesterday & he was blown away. He’d been thinking I’d exaggerated how poor it was until he saw/heard it himself.

He put some stuff on snapchat for his mates before & after the game and at half time. During post match beers we went through his thoughts and he summarised that:

Their fans seem incredibly ‘entitled’.
They don’t seem to think their team needs support.
A huge proportion are corporates or tourists.
They have no songs.
The Emirates is soulless.
The burgers are the best he’s had at footie.

What really struck him is the number of home fans leaving the game early - reckon about a third had gone with 15 minutes to play. He cannot get his head round why you’d not want to stay and celebrate such a good win with the team.

Then, on the way home, he thought it odd that they all looked so miserable - as he said, “I’d be buzzing if we’d won 4-1 no matter who it was against”.

Reckons he can hold his own with the gooners at school tomorrow.
