Just caught up with SSN’s Transfer Centre & was gobsmacked to see a picture of Wilf & a note that Liverpool are interested. This led me to actually pay attention to what they were saying and it appears that it is because: a) FdB says he should play for them. If that’s not clear evidence of making up rumours I don’t know what is - I wonder how much money Skybet have taken on the back of it? Boils my p***!

Well hacked off

Seen this point raised a few times on twitter, just to clarify that SkyBet are now majority (80%) owned by CVC and not Sky. Part of the deal in 2015 was a long term license to keep the Sky brand, with Sky keeping a 20% stake in return. Pretty sure Sky aren't really involved in day to day running of the business. Bookmakers are just like tabloids and twitter accounts, they don't have any inside info they are just a) reacting to the money coming in and b) putting stuff out there that gives the impression that they know more.

It's January and there are rumours swirling around all of the clubs featuring hundreds of players in almost every media outlet that features football. Some have some basis of truth whilst others are just wistful thinking

Sky drive huge traffic to themselves during the transfer window. So to keep it seeming like it is actually an interesting time period (which it isn't) on slow news days they will use any slight rumour to fill a segment or time slot on SSN. It's great promotion from them.

It’s either a case of they’re not telling us how they know of the interest or they are making stuff up based purely on comments made / the first by someone who has zero involvement in the situation & the other answering a rather generic question & didn’t mention LFC. To me, it’s clearly made up news.

SkyBet ‘gubbed’ me (I think that’s the term - Michaela will know) i.e. they banned me from receiving any more of their special offers like enhanced odds, ‘SkyBet Club’ etc. This was for reasons of ‘revenue protection’, they told me. This basically means that they aren’t happy when punters win money. According to my records, I had fleeced them of a net £115.00 in a year as a customer! They can therefore feck off as far as I’m concerned.
