Roy sounded really fed up when he was talking about when Loftus-Cheek will next be available. It sounded like a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks, possibly even longer. Does anyone know if this is a new injury? or is it to do with his long term back problems?

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

Well, RLC's absence from the team has coincided with a further improvement in our performances. Perhaps it's a selection headache Roy is pleased not to have at the moment?

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Headache? Tbh he hasn’t impressed me as much as he has most.

Ok so he can push past players cos he’s so strong and he does have the physique to become a top player and he is nifty with his feet but what has he created so far? He has to do more.

He probably will make it and I’d even still sign him for palace if possible but I’m just talking about what he’s achieved at palace isn’t in line with the plaudits he’s received

Potentially a season-ending injury, unfortunately: [Link]

Would be a real shame but hopefully we're able to terminate the loan

Roy said he didn’t want to cancel the loan but needs must! If there is no chance of us keeping him past this season and If he’s out for a minimum of 2-3 weeks but potentially April then we need to send him back especially with the likes of Danny Ings or Slimani up for grabs on loan we need to switch to players that we can get on the pitch

THis very much what I thought, but I do think he's an enormous talent and more complete than maybe we think. But it would seem struggles with fitness and that could be a huge problem for him. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it so he can kick on.

It all depends on RLC, his Palace friends, Chelsea Management, and Palace Management. I suspect that there is an option for an injured player to return to his contracted club - but Sakho did not - or for the player to feel at home with his loan club. Can we assume that Roy has thoughts of a paid January transfer, but perhaps not named in the 25, to secure his services for next year and free up both a loan place and give space in the 25? Thankfully Roy (with some of that care rubbing off onto Steve and Dougie)speaks to the media and shares no secrets, so we will have to wait. COYP

And some people wanted us to spend millions on buying this guy.....seriously ? He can’t play more than 15 games a season .

Ironically, if he makes a FULL recovery, will the injury make it more possible to buy him in the summer?

If he is out for the rest of the season - or likely to be - we should end his loan.
Harsh on him but it would free up a loan space for another Prem player.
Really tough for him but we have to think about ourselves.
That always assumes that we are allowed to cancel it?
