I quite like Phillips. Quite quick, quite powerful, direct, good shot.... Would instantly solve our depth problem out wide whilst giving a fit Andros reason to fear the bench if his performances aren't up to scratch. A sensible choice if it's a go-er.

B..b..but he's right footed, so more like a backup for Zaha than for Townsend. Still, with Zaha playing in the center or on his way out, there's a big gap that RLC just isn't good enough to fill. Matt Phillips is a very strong player. And fast too. H's had a great past season. Not that good previously in the Championship, but he seems to have found his feet in the PL. Not too old either, if I'm not mistaking he's 25. There could have been worse players than Matt Phillips that they bid for. Just in the last day I've had nightmares that the club bid for Arfield and Diafra Sakho

Roy seems to be a master of making competition for places work. The fact that Phillips is predominantly a right sided winger but can play down the left fits with our set up quite nicely too.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Do you think that Roy might be looking to cash in on Sako whilst he is in a purple patch? Get £5 million for Sako, bring in Phillips and a proper striker. Just amusing myself.
