Not only are our reserves not good enough, they don't seem to care much either. THIS is why I keep saying we will get relegated in the near future. All it takes is one bad injury or one dodgy signing and we have to fall back on this lot. The fact we gave Damien Delaney a contract extension in the summer says more than I ever could. We need at least half a dozen new faces and we need them quick. Not that I'm expecting much.

There is no way on god’s green earth we are signing 6+ first team squad players in January. That’s just crazy. We’d struggle to do that in a summer transfer window.

Agreed, but admit it, after that performance tonight, it's clear we need backup for so many positions. (Striker, Keeper, CB, CM & Fullbacks just off the top of my head) We obviously won't get them, but we need them. Of course, we wouldn't need to be worrying about all of that in January if we'd just pulled ourselves together in the summer.

I would agree with what you say but I think there are some positive signs. Our main issue has been manager turnover so we’re left plugging gaps each and every transfer window. With Dougie providing some stability and hopefully Roy staying for the foreseeable we should at least be able to plan ahead a bit more in future.

You really think Roy's gonna stay with our track record of managers? Sorry mate, but I'm not holding my breath.

Also, the early signs for Freedman are poor. 6 months to find new striking options and the only news is we're due to bid again for Niasse. Says it all.

To be perfectly honest, after i saw the draw with the winner having to go to Boro, I was hoping we would lose and have the opportunity for a week's training in the sun while the weed get to travel up to the "balmy" north east for the honour of banging up against a brick wall that is a Tony Pulis side. I simply can't be bothered about this one as I thin Palace got the better of this one.

We've been unlucky with injuries to our defence but take Townsend and zaha out our team and i just can't see where our chances are gonna come from. We need a striker, winger and keeper thus window

Roy has said we need 3 players: GK, Striker and Midfielder. With the injuries at CB he has said we may need to plug that so combining CB and CM in a player like Amadou is supposed to be I think is being explored. Disagree with you with fullbacks, we have 2 RB's (Ward Fosu-Mensah) and 3 LB's (PVA, Schlupp, Soure).

Don't forget we were missing, Sakho, Dann, Ward, Tomkins, RLC, luca, wilf, Benteke, plus schlupp and townsend went off injured. That stretches any squad to the limit.
How many full backs do you want...ward, TFM, soare, pva, schlupp, plus Kelly and Reidewald can play there. How many defenders do you want. .sakho, dann, tompkins, Kelly, delaney plus TFM and Reidewald coukd cover. Important areas are goalkeeper, striker and a creative CM player. We really need some creativity in the middle of the park.

Having said that the players we're apparently bidding for look pretty good. Granted, I reckon that's mostly Roy's knowledge of Europe, but if Dougie is involved, credit to him. Though we'll almost certainly miss out on most of them due to haggling over a few quid again

Then maybe we need to start looking at our training regime and our medical team and realise at least one of them aren't good enough. You really think all these injuries are a coincidence?

You hoped we'd lose to Brighton? Christ almighty
