With all Premiership teams complaining about fixture congestion it will be no surprise to see Brighton reserves/youth versus Palace reserves/youth come Monday. Won't be a great spectacle for live TVs but crazy to fit FA cup in middle of the busiest time of the season. We could have done without all the international breaks early on that we're unnecessary and caused fixture congestion now.

We can fully justify not playing much of our first team after tonight based on sound medical advice. Give em the bragging rights and let them continue to celebrate as we pass them in the table.

Get out of the cup. I couldn't careless it's Brighton, the league is much more important.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

I really couldn't give a toss about the Cup this season, we have far more important things to concentrate on. Use it to give some of the kids some experience.

You never know; perhaps our reserves/youth will beat their reserves/youth.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

If we win the Cup entirely with our Reserves/youths then I will very definitely be reversing my decision to not give a toss How amazing would that be? We can but dream.

A pity Puncheon injured himself; he's exactly what we need for this fixture! Milivojevic' excellent reducers would be good but I wouldn't waste them on these.

I do worry about the well being of today's footballers as they have to work so much harder than say the Liverpool 16 man 1980's squad with their 60 games a season, plenty on muddy pitches, and only two or three trophies a season and £500 a week to show for it. 1st team should be sent to a spa retreat with cotton wool beds for a long weekend and the reserves and youth team take their place. It's only the FA Cup which winning means only the Europa League which winning means only the Champions League.
