I know there have been threads on this before, but after another scintillating performance yesterday from Wilf - the Premiership and possibly European vultures will be circling in ever greater numbers.

If you think of current form players in the Prem - Wilf is up there at the moment with the likes De Bruyne in terms of influencing games.

If you look at our 7 game run - now the best in our Premiership history - Wilf is the catalyst to that.

Wilf got injured in the first game against, we then went 8 games no goals, no points. He came back against Chelsea scored our first goal of the season and had a massive influence on our first win and points of the season..

So since Zaha's return we have taken 17 points from 10 games, scoring 4, I don't know the number assists but sure someone will tell me - all I do know is that he has had a massive impact.

England must be kicking themselves - current form he walks into the England team. I often wonder whether Wilf thinks to himself he's decision to opt for Ivory Coast was a tad hasty and mis-advised. If he had opted for England he would definitely be going to Russia this year on the biggest stage of all.

Anyway back to my topic/question - how long can we hang on to him?

For me I don't think he will go in January - Palace surely wouldn't even consider anything under £50M, he only signed a new 5 year deal in May - so I think unlikely in January.

But if he keeps performing like he is until the end of the season - then come the summer there will be a "hoard of vultures" circling trying to prise away from Selhurst.

Good news is that I think Wilf has Palace in his heart and it/we seems/appear to mean a lot to him.

So for me first criteria is that we survive - I honestly think now we will.

So then the big thing is how Parish and the Club see the future and their objectives - which need to be supported by investment in the transfer market to make us a top 6 club, not this per annum/season fight against relegation.

This with the investment and the re-development of the ground takes us to a different level - one of the London "big boys" - not just South London..!!

If club don't show this level of commitment/desire then I think it could be very difficult to keep Wilf - and it would be hard to argue/disagree with - he's now a top player and needs to make the most of his talent and career.

Meantime let's just enjoy Wilf playing in red and blue - he must now be in the top 3 to have ever played for us alongside Wright and Sansom.

We should do all we can to keep him. He should be the highest paid player at the club.

I would not be surprised if he retires here,he loves the adulation and is not at his best as a small fish at a bigger club,he seems to transfer his love of the Palace to other players and they play better.

I wouldn’t say he ‘walks into England’. His form is great but unfortunately not as great as Raheem Sterling’s. He has been exceptional for us this year and last however, and i think sadly this might just be his last season. Wouldn’t let him go for less than 50million and a player in return, he is worth way more than that to us but have to be realistic.

No chance we'll sell in January, but I'm sadly fairly certain that a massive team will be in for him in the summer.

Why is there all this talk of him going? He has signed a 5 year deal, he is top dog here, we are planning a new stand to move the club forward.
This is typical of our fans, always look on the negative side. We don’t need to sell like in the days gone by. Parish should tell clubs circling to do one.
I get the argument about winning something, but those clubs are now a very small group, certainly not Arsenal and Spurs.
