But also a top manager. Mind games are part and parcel of football now. I doubt we'd get another penalty tonight unless it's stonewall. We have to win a match from open play very soon and we can't leave the urgency until 80 odd mins gone unless we're counting on points from Arsenal & Man City. We must get at least half or over of the next 9 points.

Of course he's going to put pressure on the refs in this way. Although I think we're unlikely to get any more penalties this week anyway.

Silva's Watford are very beatable but they'll punish you if you don't give them respect i.e. too much space. I think they got to where they are by being underestimated like burnley but they're petering out now they've been worked out. I expect us to do well against them. Famous last words.

Well Roy could play that game too by telling Lee Mason that Zaha is the most fouled player in the league and should be afforded more protection from the thugs than he has been so far.

Silva showed a clear willingness to go to Everton after only less than six months at Watford. He is using smaller clubs as stepping stones. He is not looking for anything but short-term success to get him another step up the ladder. While he may have got us firing, we need some stability for a few years which he was never going to bring. Clearly de Boer didn't either, but that's besides the point. It was agreed that Wilf did not try and deceive the referee against Bournemouth, so in an ideal world you would like to think that works in our favour, but of course we don't live in an ideal world. Wilf will continue to be kicked about as it's the only way the opposition know how to stop him. Watford will probably finish the season somewhere in mid-table and Silva will be managing a new club next season.

loosely translated as 'we're gonna physically assault Zaha for 90 minutes so if the ref could give us a hand and book him for no reason. That's be great'
