Venezuela's President, Nicolas Maduro, has banned the country's main opposition parties from taking part in next year's presidential election.
Corbyn has voiced support for this country and its leaders for many years, the country was the new Jerusalem: the model for how socialism would look in Britain and around the world, "an inspiration to us all".
If Corbyn gets into power, how long will it be before he starts banning opposition parties?

What a stupid question. That said, I do enjoy seeing the rhetoric move from 'he hasn't got a chance ' or is 'unelectable' to 'If Corbyn gets into power'

I've been yellowed for this?
If so, anyone not a supporter of Venezuela's appalling regime might as well abandon this forum.

The rhetoric change is not because he has more of a chance.
It was highlighting socialism. And all the joys it can bring!!!
Don't fret though nick as labour getting into power would almost certainly mean the end of Corbyn.
He isn't hard left enough for his sidekick McDonald let alone momentum and all that they stand for.
Be afraid be very afraid.

It is now a yellow card offence to be critical of communist Venezuela and Corbyn? What is the world coming to.

McDonald?

I love how the rise of a grassroots movement are described as hard left. What hard left things have momentum proposed? In genuinely intrigued.

Whether Corbyn gets into power or not he will never be the president so it's a pretty daft thread presumably started just to wind up others

What posting an item in the 'News & politics' forum about politics? It's like being in Kafka's 'Trial'.
