Just a quick poll, out of interest... I'll go for Julian Speroni.

This should be in our profiles, isn't it not? Actually my answe would be the eleven who started on Saturday plus Tekers if he gets his s*** together. Obvious choice would be Zaha but everyone will put that But I put Milivojevic. There's just this "Thou shall not pass" about him, he breaks up so much opposition forward play and turns the ball round for us. He and Sakho (and Cabaye) have moved us away from the mentality of hoofing it towards winning the ball and looking for Townsend or Zaha with a pass now.

It's got to be Wilf for me, you just can't beat that buzz of excitement from the crowd when he gets the ball. Also he's got Palace running through his veins!!

Andros Townsend - when he picks up the ball and starts one of his runs you can never be sure how far he will go or where it will end - exciting stuff!

Has to be Yohan for me, although not for footballing reasons. For footballing reasons I'd say Sakho or Wilf.

Jordan Mutch for me. Every time I go to a friendly he's mustard. I just don't get why we don't play him. We would definitely be mid table at least if we had used him more often this season

I'd like to go Milivojevic, but I haven't worked out how to spell it yet. Or say it.

BTW - an excellent 'Verdun' reference, CF.

BTW - an excellent 'Verdun' reference, CF. My mistake, I misquoted the source I actually meant, which is Tolkein, The Lord of the Rings, book I: The Mines of Moria. I am of course thinking of Gandalf standing against the Balrog on the Bridge of Khazad-dûm. The Balrog reached the bridge. Gandalf stood in the middle of the span, leaning on the staff in his left hand, but in his other hand Glamdring gleamed, cold and white. His enemy halted again, facing him, and the shadow about it reached out like two vast wings. It raised the whip, and the thongs whined and cracked. Fire came from its nostrils. But Gandalf stood firm. Edited by chateauferret (07 Nov 2017 6.14pm)
