in my eyes you cannot & shouldnt apportion any blame to zaha at all, hes earnt that level of respect from the fanbase. in a few weeks we will be lucky enough to not see schlupp or sako in the 1st team.

In defence of Schlupp he's doing the job he's been asked to do. He's sacrificing his game for the good of team shape and defending.

I'd never in a million years blame or moan at Wilf for his miss today. Firstly he is not a striker, that is not his natural position. Secondly, he has strength has never been as a natural finisher. He is a winger, and his strengths are his outrageous skills, ball control and ability to take on defenders and beat them. He has dug us out of many holes over the years, and he's our only real 'maverick' player that can genuinely turn a game for us. Yes of course he should have scored, no disputes there - anyone who is playing at pro level should score that opportunity... BUT players are all human, and like us they all make mistakes. Even the greats miss such chances, look here at Messi for example! One thing for sure is that you know that no one will be more gutted that Wilf that he missed that chance. The lad has so much passion and love for our club, that will have hurt him, just as much as it hurt us. As for Sakho's chance, that was another glorious opportunity for us. Again, I love Sakho, and no one can really dig him out too much about the miss, but the reality with his chance, you can see he slightly bottled it. He took his eye off the ball as saw the keeper coming and knew that he was going to get clattered. As a result he didn't get any real contact on the ball. If he's braver in that instance, he scores, it's that simple. I will agree that his main weakness does indeed to seem to be aerially - on the deck he's top notch, and his distribution is extremely slick. His aerial ability or strength doesn't quite match the high quality of his other attributes, but in general if you play him alongside someone like Dann who is an attacker of the ball aerially, it's fine defensively as they compliment each other well (one attacks, one sweeps). Schlupp gives effort, and is a tryer. He does an ok job in general. Again he's played out of position most of the time so it's always hard to be fair on someone who's not playing their natural game and is sacrificing that to help the team. As for Sako, I think we'll all agree that he's simply not good enough to play in the side full stop, let alone lead the line. I know he had a great record at Wolves, but to me, looking at him physically I personally think he looks to heavy and cumbersome. He certainly was not as 'big' as his current shape when at Wolves, which I'd suggest must also be a contributing factor to his struggle to perform (especially even more so that we're all told that PL players have never been fitter and or cover more metres than ever before). At the end of the day, it's been another gutting result for us. We've again not got we deserved, and unfortunately it's becoming a bit too frequent now, which makes it a real concern when you live in hope that 'luck' evens itself out over the course of a season (as the old saying goes). The big worry for me is that we're playing pretty well at the moment, and sadly not getting the points on the board that should merit that. I know that we'll play badly, and again we won't get points, so that then makes me question - if you don't get points when you do play well, you aren't ever going to get any points full stop are you (unless you're one of the top sides, who have those winning traits of being able to win games still when playing poorly)? The underlying issue is as we all know, we need that striker that will tuck some of those chances away. Until that happens and or Benteke returns and or more importantly finds some form I can't see it changing any time soon, and one thing we don't have from here is time, we need points now from the next match onwards. Schlupp was dreadful...he consistently gave the ball away, passed to a white shirt and should not have been on the pitch. No surprise Leicester gladly unloaded him At least Sako only had a short time on the field to be offside.
