The UK car industry sunk into near oblivion as a result of bad management and lack of investment....blame conveniently pushed onto the unions with scapegoats like Derek Robinson...some naive people even believe the myth to this day. As another poster has said,funny how the German car industry has done so well with strong unions but with the added ingredient of good investment and strong management.

It was also nationalised at the time. So even allowing for some of the perceived lack of investment as you claim it was the Unions who nailed their own coffin shut.
