Remember when it was promised the UK would take in 3000 refugee children. Well we've only taken in 300 so far. Campaigners have lost a court battle to force the Government to take the number of child refugees it promised to under the Dubs Amendment.

The oh so proud of their Christian British roots patriots will be happy. Why the hell should we take orphaned 10 year olds? That's just not on.

Good. This country is overcrowded enough already. As I have said before. This world's future will see an endless and ever increasing flow of refugees. We cannot and should not save them all. We have to have a sensible policy going forward and one that considers the future of British citizens first. That is the duty of our government. Decisions have to be made with heads and not hearts that is what we pay politicians for. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (03 Nov 2017 12.26pm)

Not completely relevant to refugees, but really brings home the reality of why immigration of those from 'poor' countries to the West will never solve anything, and will in some cases, damage the countries that they're leaving. At one point the influx of immigrants got so bad that many of the white middle classes left South London and headed for places such as Dorset just to escape.

Edited by Rubin (03 Nov 2017 12.27pm) I appreciate the nub of the clip. Always been concerned about brain drain, although if we haven't got the qualified people here to do it. This thread is about refugee children who often have no family, have seen things you and I couldn't dream of.

Like what exactly? the only possible negative I could think of would be a shortage of skilled workers to fill specialist vacancies however this could easily be eradicating by issuing visas to skilled applicants so please tell me Nick as I am genuinely interested, what would these negative consequences be that you speak of?
