On Saturday it appears that our players were not wearing shirts with the poppy emblem. As most of the home teams on MOTD were I was wondering if there was a reason? As I volunteer each year I guess I have a vested interest. Hopefully the answer is they are wearing them in another match. I checked the official website but couldn't find any mention. Does anybody know?

Also, why did we do the silence on Saturday when the day is next Sunday?

Actually, Remembrance Day is Saturday 11 November with most services on the 12th.

Because Remembrance is on an international weekend. This was our closest home game to it.

Maybe a few of the players didnt want to wear the jersey with the Poppy on it. Its a personal choice at the end of the day.

I disagree with the new politically correct practice of putting printed poppies on football shirts as standard. FIFA have the right approach on that.

I'm sure it is voluntary and given that the proceeds from the shirt auction goes to The Royal British Legion it's not a bad way of marking Remembrance within English Football.

As mentioned the shirts are sold off for I believe the Royal British legion ,all in a good cause . Its not PC either , its for charity and FIFA are t***s if they don't understand that the poppy is a symbol of respect for those who have sacrificed their futures so we and they may have one .

How come it's the only charity that gets this treatment?

James Maclean (who I dislike for other reasons) never wears one as a personal choice.
