I’m not being facetious by saying hopefully the fact the ambulance was speeding was a good sign ie maybe the steward was wrong about the person having died. Otherwise; how terrible.

The paramedics were literally working on him for three quarters of the game, with a section of the concourse screened off with coats

At the end as we left we asked a steward, and he said the guy was still breathing when he left the ground

What happened afterwards at the hospital is anyones guess, we're not friends or family - but fingers crossed the medics had a result

I'd have hoped so, it is their job after all.

Hope he's ok.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I think you need to be a very special person to do that type of job. It must be extremely stressful but both rewarding and tragic depending on a number of factors including your own skill and efforts on the day.

Let's hope the person survived.

Yes hope we can find out, Palace may find this out

I was just a firstaider, we are told you just keep going until someone who is highly trained takes over we was also told you never hand over a dead person to the professionals because they are still alive until pronounced dead, But when you find out they didnt survive it hurts big time you always ask yourself could i have done batter

Great to hear that it sounds like they saved him.

In that case he was lucky he was at Selhurst and not sat on his sofa watching the game.
