I've been away from General Talk for a while up till recently and have noticed, and by reading some other comments too, how political it is (shock, horror!).

Political debate is great and there are some interesting ding-dongs on the topics. However, I'd like to see more pop culture topics and having a separate board might encourage this type of discussion to flourish and with different posters.

Any sport, music or general discussion is currently getting lost in the topics about the EU, islam, etc etc!

I suggest changing Splitting 'General Talk' into: 'Politics Talk' and 'TV/Film/Music'. Am open to ideas on making the latter a catchier title, like maybe 'Entertainment Talk'? This would be a politics-free zone.

Also, renaming 'Football Talk' as 'Sport Talk'. Doing this should make this forum more active.

Would love to hear your thoughts. I can implement this in the coming days.

Sounds good idea if you think it will generate a greater variety of threads and posters,though music also pops up a bit in Fun Talk...but no doubt it won't be long before the words "immigration", "islam" and "racism" pop up in the Ents threads!

Sadly some of our more active posters can turn any thread into a binary political argument.

I like the idea of an area where you aren't allowed to do that, maybe put in place a rule that people get binned off the thread if they mention immigrants, Corbyn, Brexit or Che Guevara.

Ah, just seen Legal had the same thought. We have an annoying habit of doing that.
