Apparently, the board only got us a half allocation for the Newcastle game, can anyone confirm this? Feels like a slap in the face a bit (if true), as I know a few others who were up for going.

the newcatle press were reporting that the london press were "boasting" that Palace had sold out their allocation..
they then said the only tickets left for newcastle fans to buy were in the section normally reserved for away fans and hinted (by showing a map of the stadium) that palace had only taken 1/2 (1.5k) of the normal allocation that other teams get...
the report went onto say that only stoke had had a smaller away folowing than we will have....
ive think ive read before that the away allocation HAS to be sold because we pay for them "up front"...

They overestimated Man C and had to return tickets (we we moved blocks at the last min and I had to take tickets back to box office to swap). So they are learning from the recent numbers I guess. Not a major surprise considering recent form...

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?

If true it is a major disgrace. 1500 tickets at 30 quid equal 45 grand, about 3 days wages for Benteke sitting home injured and now we feel it is justified to make financially based decisions to limit the amount of away fans......?

More fallout from the biggest cluster fvck this summer in the history of cluster fvcks. Get used to it. It's going to be a long, painful and torturous season.

They have been doing this for the past year. Biggest joke was Liverpool away last season when our Premiership survival was still an issue. A 3.00 pm Saturday KO and they took a reduced allocation which sold out 10 days before. Have done the same this season at Liverpool and Man U both which sold out over a week before the game took place. Now we are in a situation for the newcastle game where 1500 of the 3000 allocation have have been taken and have sold out two weeks before the game takes place.
To cap it all the club, management and players big it up about our fans being the 12th man at games like Chelsea away last season and give this, justiably, as a reason for hanging on in the dying minutes of such games.
Championship mentality throughout the club. And that's where it will lead.

Football clubs pay the home team for the tickets in an up front fee. Clubs with smaller away attendance sometimes take the smaller allocation.

I understand that we don't sell out away games outside of the south very much, but to be taking half allocations to save, at most, £45k is utterly ridiculous. Say you did that for all 19 games, that is £855k in a season... Whoop-te-f***ing-do.

As well as that, they've been selling out those allocations well over a week in advance... What about those who decide/know a week before whether they can go or not?

People will be paying £40 for the West Ham and Everton games, plus the away games recently and the Carabao Cup, and the board can't afford to, at worst, lose £45k, despite de Boer's compensation package being probably 200x higher than that.

I can deal with s*** football, s*** results, but s*** like this really takes the f***ing piss.
