With Roy Hodgson scratching his head as to who to play up front, why not give Sulley a run out ? I believe that he is still with us and Sulley was once tipped as a future quality player. I know that he had some moves on loan to lower League Clubs where his contribution was judged to be less than spectacular but he did weigh in with some good goals. Although he seems to be regarded as a wide player, let's not forget that he was a regular goal scorer in his junior days when he played as a striker. What harm can it do in giving him a run out at this moment in time when we cannot score for love nor money ?

I thought he was a winger rather than a striker (happy to be corrected)

Hasn't grown into playing as a striker, too light weight and skillful enough to play on the wing. He played in the cup this season so it's not as if he has disappeared. In the long term I don't know if he'll ever make it into the first team full-time. He looks championship level.

Saw him play for Brentford a couple of times and he didn't look like he could cut it at Championship level so I doubt we will seen him play in the near future...............maybe next season!

What concerns me about this and numerous similar threads about various players is...how do "such players" get taken on by a premier league club in the first place? If they are (basically) "no good" and will never even be close to consideration for the first team, then what is their purpose?
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Scored against Pardew's newcastle in the league cup 3 years ago now!! I think it's become obvious if he was going to make it big time with us it would've happened by now. Destined for a career in the lower/non-leagues like most of our up and coming youngsters over the years, once we finally let him go Edited by monkey (05 Oct 2017 5.50pm)
