Looking very bad. Sounds like he may have been shooting from high up in the Mandalay Hotel down onto the crowd below. I mean I know Country & Western music is annoying but still...

This is just a case of rinse and repeat for the US. Thank goodness guns are harder to come by here.

Having your holiday to Vegas spoiled by thousands of happy people listening to music at festivals? No problem, just nip down to the supermarket to buy an assault rifle and a few hundred bullets - problem solved. It really is insane.
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

64 year old local Stephen Paddock identified as killer. 50 dead now. Looking like the highest casualty mass shooting in US history. Crazy stuff.

If you combine an automatic with enough ammo with a high elevated position over looking a large concentrated gathering....For a person with malign intent it's sitting ducks.

It's not like he could ever have lived in Vegas when it wasn't a party town!

Prepare for Trumps "If all the audience had guns this could have been prevented" bulls***. Trump's views before he got into politics. 'It’s often argued that the American murder rate is high because guns are more available here than in other countries. After a tragedy like the massacre at Columbine High School, anyone could feel that it is too easy for Americans to get their hands on weapons. But nobody has a good solution. This is another issue where you see the extremes of the two existing major parties. Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed. The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions. I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within seventy-two hours if a potential gun owner has a record'

They see another person with a gun, which is happening to point at where someone just got shot down... well you can see where that leads to. Not to mention that people carrying handguns would have had zero chance to shoot the guy with a handgun from that distance, even if they identified where the shots were coming from. Unfortunately the gun lobby will not agree, therefore more guns for all. It's a sorry state of affairs.
