I've just had time to dust myself down and i recorded the whole game as it was Sky Sports pick for game of the day. We actually played quite well again!!! It was another strange game. They were just ruthless when the chances came their way (something we lack in the final third at the moment) But some of our possession play was very good and we need to remind ourselves we were missing 8 players!!! Those goals either side of half time killed the game off, but it was fairly even for the most part. I really think we need to calm down, and a couple of wins i'm sure will breed some confidence within the ranks and we can start moving up the table. We were certainly not battered yesterday

A 4-0 loss is a battering which ever way you look at it. An undeserved battering maybe but still a battering.

To put it in simple terms ... we didn't put the football in the back of the net but they did four times. That's the whole point of a game of football and that's why we never get any points.

Don't care really , but among the Man U fans I suffer out here , they thought 4 - nil flattered them .

It was still 4-0 whatever.

Love you Palace we do.

We will have the last laugh.

I take all the positives I can. 1st half vs City and 2nd half at Old Trafford showed we're not that bad, but you can tell as soon as we approach the opposition box the Eagles stop flying. Scared for smt unfamiliar - the ball in the net, I guess...

The team looked really low on confidence. Whenever we got to the edge of their box we seemed acutely aware of our lack of a striker and seemed to seize up. Hodgson does seem to have got us moving the ball forward well with fast transitions from defence to attack, without just thumping it long all the time, but we desperately need something to give us a lift. Hopefully Zaha will be back raring to go against Chelsea.

We froze up front because once we got there we had nobody to receive the ball. When Sako pushed wide to get on a ball we had nobody in the centre at all.
We did seem to play well in the second half but that may be more due to how Utd chose to play at that point. A commentator noted that at the beginning of the second half the 2-0 advantage would suit Mourinho as his team could now just sit back and counter - a style he likes. That's pretty much what happened.

Especially as they were three up with over 40 minutes to play. There's no danger in ceding possession to us as we're not going to do anything with it are we?

It flattered us the game was over in the first few mins they did not break sweat or even play that well. Man City we played well in the first half we had chances to score and they scored a good goal to get in front that was a far better performance. Losing these games is expected so no point in us losing heart our season must start after the Chelsea game a game we need to park the bus and fight for a point.
