With Benteke out who do we think Woy will play up top?
I feel due to the midweek cup match he might be playing Bakary Sako but seeings as we are already a joke I know this might sound a bit controversial but would like to see the youth get a game. Always wanted to see Freddie Ladapo steal a game in the prem.

As a side note, I can see that we look a bit ridiculous club at the moment and the management of the club has definitely been questionable. Nevertheless, we are still in the prem. And we have never lasted this long in the top flight. It worries me that up until man city I couldnt hear our boys singing for the lads that much. Obviously they maybe don't deserve the level of support the palace faithful are known for and I can understand the frustration but if we want any chance of staying up this year we need to give some confidence and support to the lads on the pitch and Roy.

We have never been a classy club, or a great club and have always been a team hugely affected by confidence issues (more than most I believe). One thing we do seem to love though is being the underdog and being scrappy and a huge part of that is our support. I study in manchester so it is hard for me to attend games but I'm urging everyone that goes now to just keep supporting the boys. Thats all we can do now if we want to stay up and as a supporter, that is our job.

Maybe not at other clubs where if a team hasn't scored a goal yet they wont sing for the boys. What I love about going to Palace is we will give a huge cheer for anything vaguely positive. A pass, a good challenge, a little cheeky bit of skill and in my memory - one of the biggest cheers I've ever heard in the ground was when we beat Leeds 1-0 to stay up and in the last minute Neil Danns put in an outrageous two footer at the half way line and we all praised that man's scrappy fight till you die nature. But it is a two way street. We need to give them that confidence because naturally - left to their own devices I wouldn't say we are a confident team.

Sorry for the long winding post fellas, I rarely post on here, but felt this was important

The OP is right; if we don't get behind the 11 on the pitch on match days, then we may as well all give up and go home.

It really is a lot to ask a player who has a ratio of 1 goal in every 5 games on 'Loan' to lower division clubs to make any impact in the rarefied level of the PL.

More likely that Hodgson will use Sako as a striker instead.

Stick with the striker we have when he's fit. If he can get out of his dry spell, he'll hit a run of goals. We just need to create more chances for him.

Will be interesting to see who's up front for Man Utd. Wickham in a wheelchair, or the corpse of peter simpson on a stick?

Against Man United I wouldn't even be overly bothered about playing a striker. I certainly wouldn't think it fair to throw a kid in there in a game of such magnitude/importance. If he were to have a bad game he may never recover from it.
I'd line up Saturday with a 4 6 0 formation. Park the bus, say break us down if you can. They probably will in the end but who knows.
Against Chelsea we will probably have Wilf back so I would play him there. After that? Well hopefully Benteke will be back by then but if not I'd hope our owners will have known that for some time and put a contingency plan in place like scouring the free agent market, taking a good long look at what our youth/reserve strikers can do or simply changing the system in order to get our attacking midfielders higher up the pitch and closer to the opposition goal.
Looking at the first half between BHA and NU this afternoon I am surprised (and happy) to say the standard of those teams are Championship. Poor defensively and even worse at finishing. There is hope.

How mobile is Ladapo. It might be worth playing him just to help pressure Utd from the top, and give the midfield a break.

If not, then maybe playing RLC there, and having McArthur just off him for a similar impact.
