Simply put, Sakho seems to have all the leaderships qualities needed to help inspire the team and move us forward. He has the respect of the other players and leads by example. I watched him last night inspire others and ooze confidence in everything he does.

The question really is.....has Roy got that 'cut throat' mentality to appoint Sakho as Captain.

It could possibly be the turning point of the season.

He has to be captain. He captained the side in all but name last season and was immense. He is a born leader something we seriously lack

Agree V H. Sakho should be given the armband & although not in either the Hennessy or Speroni camp. I'd like Speroni given the Green Jersey.

infact punch really loves the club he should be knocking on Sakhos front door personally to pass the flame on.

100% - this is a no brainer. Clearly the best man for the job.

Has anyone ever heard professional players saying how much importance they place on who is captain?

I hear a lot of successful teams saying they have 'leaders all over the pitch' but would giving Sakho the armband mean anyone listens to him more than they already do?

The plus side is this would hopefully give Punch a rest until he rediscovers some form around 2021.

I'm far too lazy to go and find out but wonder if anyone's said one way or the other if it matters who is skipper.

You're right, it doesn't matter. Puncheon is club Captain but should probably be dropped. Sakho will probably get the armband when that finally happens.

Who starts will be an important decision, the Captaincy isn't.
