I've just seen on sky sports news that Boateng has gone to Exeter on a FREE transfer. What the f*ck?!?! I thought this lad was a really good player with a lot of potential?? What happened to us being a club that brings through the youngsters?? I also noticed Ryan Inniss has gone out on loan to Colchester. That's more like it. I think he will be a great defender for us one day. It's good he's getting some experience out on loan...

It does not matter what you think but both Boateng and innis are unfortunately not good enough.
Hence the club signed the likes of Luka and hopefully Sakho.

In an ideal world we all want to see Clyne's, Moses's and Wilf's coming through but the fact is the good players are few and far between.
Add to that that often despite their talent they just do not have what it takes mentally to move onwards and upwards.
I know I am generalising but a lot of kids nowadays and regardless of background assume they are good enough and feel entitled and so lack hunger - not just in football I might add.
I am not for one minute suggesting this is the case here but there is a lot more to it than just having the talent - you have to have the ability and desire to turn it into something else.

He came on for the last 12 or so minutes to help shore up the 1-0 and job done. Went on a 30 yard run with his first touch of the ball which got the crowd excited before he lost possession and that was about it from Hiram today. Probably very rusty but I have high hopes for him at St James Park.
