A long time playing England black female football player. Aluko, has made allegations against the coach Mark Sampson and the FA. But what took my eye was this snippet. Sorry for the cut n paste job: Aluko has now spoken publicly about her allegation that she was subjected to a "racist comment" by Sampson before a match against Germany in 2014 that left her "intimidated and shocked". "I found myself next to Mark Sampson and he asked me which family members were coming," she said. "I said: 'I've got family coming in from Nigeria.' And he said: 'Make sure they don't come over with Ebola.' I laughed because I was in shock. I didn't know what to say. "Now I've been part of many dressing rooms. I'm used to industrial language, used to a bit of banter, a bit of a joke - but that was about my family. "That comment could have been said to anybody. I believe it was said to me because I am of African descent and my family is coming over from Nigeria at the time." When asked if she felt it was a racist comment, Aluko said: "Yes, I believe it was and again I go back to the definition. I believe it was an unfavourable comment made to me that made me feel completely shocked and intimidated that was said to me because I'm of African descent." Sampson vehemently denies saying this. Now for me, I don't see what's racist about this at all. It doesn't fit the definition and it's stretching the whole concept to include anything negative associated with any person anywhere. Ebola was in Nigeria....What kind of madness is it that you can't relate reality....like you are meant to deny or never mention it. It's apart of the madness that I currently believe is going on and I think this system is so obviously open to abuse that.....well, there will always be that percentage who take advantage.....I for the life of me don't understand this kind of thing. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Aug 2017 9.05pm) This is the kind of bollocks people have to contend with in our brave new world. Firstly, it isn't 'racist' by any daft definition and second, why should people have to tread on eggshells all the time with certain people?

She does sound like a pain but in my book using others' 'family' to banter/wind up crosses a line. And it's not racism it's racialist. We used to understand the difference but the younger generation don't seem to get it nowadays.

They are a convenient construct.

Yep, it's not going to help things when people start treating others as 'potential lawsuits'.

She looks shaggable....that's the only useful positive thing that comes to mind about it. Mind you in the impossibly unlikely scenario where I got to shag this bird no doubt I'd find out six months later that my knob was racist.

Being a dick isn't the same as being racist. Nor is thinking your funny when your not a crime.
