Also not saying isn't allowed a holiday. Not in anyway am I calling for frank de Boer to be sacked but do you think we missed a trick not getting Marco Silva. Done reasonably well on a small budget at hull, although got hull relegated he remained his reputation. Especially given our lack of budget. He bought in young and hungry players in Hughes and chalobah. Also had a release clause, where he called walk away for nothing. I guess this hypothetical question, but would like to know your feelings on this .

You're opening up a can of worms with this one. All I'll say is that Marco Silva was my preferred choice and why did he choose Watford over us - who knows?

Parish completely denied that Silva was our main target.

Silva was just as much a risk as De Boer. I don't know if he was ever a main target but I much prefer who we got. Strange him going to Watford. He could finish in the top ten a still get sacked.

He was our preferred choice. If looking at our business in the window, very little and had a similar budget at hull. After watching the debate show with Simon Jordan yesterday, I was thinking yep silva would of made perfect sense for us. He knew Luka had a tremendous home record. This is not to say that de Boer given time could get us playing and winning some nice football but at the moment. I think it boring watching Palace under de Boer, very slow passing for the sake of it. If he gets the backing he needs then, who knows.

The answer is simply 'no'. This was dispelled months ago - he was never a target therefore we didn't miss out on him. Parish was quite categoric & there was never any denial from Silva or his agent as, IIRC, he still had their emails/texts.

Fifield is, ultimately, a journalist looking to earn a few quid yet you'd take his hearsay over a categoric statement from the man involved? I also don't get why Silva would have made perfect sense for us. The day we beat Hull 4-0 he showed absolutely no desire or ability to change anything. There was no sign of him trying to spur his team on or offer any real encouragement - the Hull fans we chatted with after felt the same way. Not sure I'd want such a lack of leadership anywhere near my team.

Whoever comes in to manager Palace in the future should be warned they only have two games to prove themselves

So we judge silva on one game at selhurst, when in theory Swansea winning on that Saturday. Near enough put the nail in the coffin. He took over a hull side that was the worse on paper and gave it a fighting chance in the league. Had an impressive home record at hull. Had similar success abroad with olymkiakos. In not saying sack de Boer but surely parish knew we didn't have players for a possession game or was he asleep when pardew was in charge. Given the lack of funds at Palace. Surely would of made more sense, he knew when appointing big Sam successor the budget roughly. De Boer a good manager record at Ajax but you use the conveyor belt of youth that makes up 75% of Ajax side every season. Premier league is unforgiving league, I'm not for one minute think de Boer is bad appointment and saw a massive improvement today. Just wondering if others thought we missed a trick, not going for Marco silva. You clearly don't .
