Yes Sam took a while , BUT , we already had points on the board so therefore we only had to make adjustments on fitness and concentration to eventually get safe .

FDB has got it ALL wrong
We do not have players that can keep the ball ,
We have players that defend well ( better with Sakho ) and attack quickly
We have never EVER been able to string more than 6 passes together , maybe briefly with Venables in the old second division , but thats it .
The danger of giving FDB " a chance " or a " few games " is that we could very very easily LOSE every game and by December be 15 - 20 points adrift

Experiments and change is fine , but NOT in a division as lucrative as the Premier League
I think we should get rid of FDB as soon as possible and get in a manger that plays simple football that our players are capable of playing !!

I agree with pretty much all of the above, but FDB surely deserves a chance. There were positives albeit few, Loftus-Cheek, Zaha, Townsend.... , and in the 2nd half the system was played further up field so we coped with it better. However Hennessy's constant distribution to defenders close up was not only poor but showed a complete lack of imagination and the ability to see Huddersfield's tactics.
They are a pressing team, and our defenders can't cope when pressed so the ball needs to go upfield.
Let's hope FDB is a manager that instead of flogging a dead horse actually sees a teams capabilities and strengths and has it in him to change.
That needs to start with Puncheon, no room for loyalty and being a local lad with a big heart. He isn't captain material and isn't good enough to be in the starting 11.

And back him with almost £50m in jan transfer window to get in the players he wanted.

To those of you having a meltdown about this thread being a knee jerk reaction and the OP being a t***, remember that this is football, not international politics. What's wrong with a knee jerk reaction to a horrific result? Makes you feel better and often it can turn out to be the correct decision long term. For example, if we had sacked Holloway after one league game instead of 10, or warnock or pardew in his second season, etc. To be honest it rarely gets that much better when it's bad to a certain extent. Not saying it won't, but people comparing FDB to Allardyce are forgetting one huge factor- Allardyce lost the first few games while he was shaping the team in his image and improving fitness etc. These are things that should have been done by de boer in the summer, of which he had over six weeks. I was at the game and the team looked as clueless as they did in the first preseason match, especially nervous in defence, and that's down to the manager. Not saying he's doomed, but I have a bad feeling about him at this point.
